One of my favorite places to go to relax, enjoy nature and photograph is Ferry Point Park in Chester, Maryland, Queen Anne’s County.
The park is 41 acres of tidal wetlands, non-tidal wetlands and uplands surrounded by three bodies of water (Chester River, Kent Narrows and Piney Creek. One may see herons, ospreys, eagles, ducks, geese, swans, turtles, bullfrogs, and on a recent trip a snake swimming. There are hiker/biker trails, benches and interpretive signage.
Often it’s hard to realize that you are just a few hundred yards from the Kent Narrows Bridge on US-50.
Note:
With the addition of the re-published ‘Points of Interest’ series that will be published on Sundays, the “Photo of the Week” will now be published on Thursday. Even though Thursday’s are known for their Throw-Back Photos, these will be often ones shot in the previous week.
Many of the photographs appearing on this Website are available as a print. Three sizes are available. 8×10 (with 11×14 Matt) at $25, 11×14 at $50 or 13×19 at $75. Please send an email to photos@shoretobefun.com to place an order.
