The weather and my schedule didn’t come together for a photo trip this week. This is one of my “Points of Interest” series I did on my Photography Business Website, SGAtkinson.com

A couple of years ago Main Street Rock Hall commissioned three murals. These murals can be found on the Main Street wall of Bayside Foods, the rear entrance to the Mainstay and on the rear of Java Rock.

Chestertown artist Ken Castelli’s mural at Bayside Foods mural depicting the lives and traditions of Chesapeake Bay watermen who continue to ply their trade and have played a significant role in shaping Rock Hall;

Wye River Upper School (in Centreville) Art Teacher Katie Lillard and Language Teacher Karen Gilbert, in consultation with Hagopian Arts on the back wall of the Mainstay to depict the natural resources of the Chesapeake Bay. Plants, fish and birds are the focus of the mural;

Kirk Seese of BB Murals, in collaboration with Jen Jasper of Cecil County behind Java Rock depicting the lives and traditions of Eastern Shore farmers.

In 2018 High School Senior Brianna Pierce and a few of her friends, as part of a Senior Project, created art work around a number of storm drains. A few of these can be seen on Main Street and other places.

About Drives With Steve
Nearly three years ago I began doing a series of posts I called “Drives with Steve” on my photography Website, SGAtkinson.com. The idea was to take a drive from my home in Chestertown to an randomly selected location and take photographs along the way.

This eventually turned into the “Point of Interest” Series. Along the way I’ve captured a pretty wide range of photos that I could put into the Photo Book that I am currently producing.

I am planning to do more “Drives” and post them here for your viewing pleasure. Check back each Sunday to see photos from a latest Drive. Although due to weather or other circumstances some may be of previous drives.
