Caroline County CASA Pinwheels for Prevention
Sorry about the delay with This Week’s Photo of the Week. Part of my photographic life is that as a Photojournalist. This event was held last night and then I had a quick turn-around to cover another even this morning.

I’m sure I could have found a different photo to use, but I felt this one is the perfect on for this week. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. I sure we all would agree that this is a serious problem. One that is sometimes not thought much about, but we should.

CASA is Maryland’s Court Appointed Special Advocate. They are volunteers that make a life-changing difference for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

From marylandcasa.org – ” …help us plant a pinwheel garden by sponsoring a blue pinwheel! Pinwheels for Prevention is a campaign to commemorate National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Blue pinwheels are the national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. The pinwheel is an uplifting reminder of childhood and the bright futures that all children deserve. Our Pinwheels for Prevention campaign symbolizes our CASA community’s commitment to protecting the children of Maryland. By sponsoring a pinwheel you are helping to protect Maryland’s most vulnerable children and youth. Proceeds benefit Maryland CASA Association’s mission to find safe, permanent homes for children and youth of Maryland who have suffered abuse and/or neglect.”
