Historical Marker - Wickliffe

I seems as if there are many historical “Marker Monday” post. I even started one at the beginning of 2021. So I have decided to be different and have a “Marker Tuesday” instead.

There are hundreds of Historical Markers along the Country Roads of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Some are the Historical markers seen on Maryland’s roadways. This program was launched in 1933 and as stated on the MD Government official page “the roadside historical marker program has proven an effective way to draw attention to the many events, people and places that have contributed to the richness of our state and nation.”

As I said, I have been photographing these markers for several years, although not as many since I discontinued those Monday Marker posts in the middle of 2021.

Beginning next week on March 22nd, three days before the Maryland Day holiday on the 25th, I will be begin “Marker Tuesday” posts.

A few weeks ago I did a “Drives with Steve” post of a few of the Highway Markers in Kent County. See that post for an idea.

Thank You
Steve Atkinson
