For many reasons I decided to take a break. I suppose one of the biggest is that it has been Winter on Chesapeake Country. As with many things winter is the time to hibernate and I suppose that is true for me.
But in ways it also have been a busy couple of months. Beginning in November I opened a pop-up store in the Town of Greensboro with Positivi-Tea for the Holidays. A little before Christmas I had a decision to make on whether I would continue with the shop. I, rather I should say, we decided to continue. Unfortunately for us the region had a deep freeze at Christmas. The shop had a water pipe burst that caused us to be closed for the month of January and it wasn’t until close to Mid-February that we were able to re-open. I did use that break to created a Theme for the photographs I have on display at the shop. “Waters of the Chesapeake”. The plan is to have a NEW Different theme every other month. Not sure what it’ll be, but it will be a Chesapeake Country one.
With opening of the shop, I have created additional products to put my Chesapeake Country Photographs on in addition to the Note Cards. So far other than the Cards, which are available for purchase on this site, products at the store include bags, mugs, and mouse pads. Currently shipping cost are great and I am hoping to have a remedy for that and have them available for purchase online.
I have also created a “Card of the Month” club. When you subscribe each month I will send a 5×7 Greeting Card of one of my Chesapeake Country Scenes that will only be available to members.
This winter season has been a mild one. One that really only saw one snow and even it just barely covered the ground and was gone by mid-day. I was able to capture this scene before it was just a memory.
I just heard the weather forecaster say that the weather is warming up and will soon be out again photographing the area. This year I am planning to spend more time on the Lower Eastern Shore and even on the Western Shore of the Bay.
