For most of the afternoon it was a usual day at the Kent County Waterman’s association Annual Waterman’s Day. Then mid-way through the first run of the Boat Docking Contest a surprise participant joined the contest. A 9 year old girl from Tilghman, Captain Peyton. She gave the crowd, one of the biggest to attend the event, a flawless run. It wasn’t the fastest, but it she did better than many other participants in the show.
Boat Docking, sometimes called the Water Rodeo, is considered a water sport in which Captains of their boats, work and charter, compete to go from point “A” to get to point “B” and execute a task of tie/lasso of poles for a timed competition. They compete for cash, prizes, trophies and of course bragging rights.
The Following are photos from Captain Peyton’s 2nd run of the Docking Competition
