Caroline County Court House Denton, MD
I joined the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce just about the same time that I began this project. I have always enjoyed visiting Caroline County and Denton. Since joining the chamber I have spent much more time there at all time of the day throughout the years. Here are a few photos of the Court House in Denton throughout the year.

The Court House Green is an area that has been populated with a number of Historical Markers. It’s a stop on the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Scenic Byway and The Civil War Trail. There are makers there for the American Revolution and the War of 1812.

The Caroline County Court House was the view that President Franklin Roosevelt had as he delivered a nationally broadcasted radio speech in 1938.

Caroline Court House SummerFest Stage
Since the Court House is a focal point for the Town of Denton and Caroline County, the steps of the Court House is often used as a stage for events such as Caroline SummerFest and the Denton Christmas Parade/Holiday Season Kick-off.

Without a doubt the Caroline Court House should be visited when you get to the exit on MD404 for Business 404. It’s well worth the short detour.

About the Sunday Posts

Nearly three years ago I began doing a series of posts I called “Drives with Steve” on my photography Website, SGAtkinson.com. The idea was to take a drive from my home in Chestertown to an randomly selected location and take photographs along the way.

This eventually turned into the “Points of Interest” series. Along the way I’ve captured a pretty wide range of photos.

For the past several months I have been doing posts on each Sunday that I have been terming,”Drives with Steve” and have tried to have recent one every week. Over these past few there has been a few things that have made these weekly trips difficult to do. One of the biggest has been, in a word, inflation. Especially the price of gas. The cost for these trips have nearly doubled.

I have decided to only do one “Drives with Steve” post a month, on the first Sunday of the Month. What will be appearing on the other Sundays?

“Points of Interest” on the Second Sunday, “Common Series” on the Third Sunday and “Over the Years on the Fourth Sunday.

My Thanks goes out to all who are constant visitors. I am grateful for all of the support I am receiving.
